(1911-1989) Born in Vyborg, Finland. Kaj franck is described as the conscience of finnish design. He removed everything excessive in his designs, leaving only the essentials. Kaj Franck has been awarded a large number of Finnish and international awards and prizes and his work has been displayed at a range of design museums around the world. Some of his most famous objects are the teema tableware and the glass series kartio.

Teema is the classic expression of essential design thinking, with each object derived from the basic forms: Circle, square or rectangle. As kaj franck put it, 'color is the only decoration needed'. Teema is highly versatile, endlessly combinable and serves all your changing dining needs.

Established in 1881, iittala has a long tradition of glass craftsmanship. Mouth-blown, non-leaded crystal in combination with vibrant colors has long been a staple of the brand as can be seen in the Aalto vase and the Toikka collectible birds. In addition to the art glass, iittala has proven successful with their supremely combinable lines of dinnerware.

iittala objects hold a deeper meaning, beyond the shape and surface function.
