Massimiliano & Doriana Fuksas were both born in Rome and graduated in architecture from La Sapienza University. In 1967 Massimilano opened a practice in Rome, followed in 1989 and 1993 by firms in Paris and Vienna, with Doriana becoming his close partner in 1985. They now live and work shuttling between Rome and Paris, teaching in numerous universities, including the Staadtliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste, the École Spéciale d'Architecture, Columbia University in New York, and La Sapienza University in Rome. Through exhibits and projects they have won numerous titles and awards such as the Vitruvio International a la Trayectoria Award in Buenos Aires, the Grand Prix d'Architecture Française, and were named Accademico Nazionale di San Luca and Commandeur de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres de la République Française. Their professional practice centers principally on the creation of public works, including university buildings and major urban complexes, however, they have designed several consumer products that mirror their ingenious architectural inspirations through form. The E-Li-Li Mocha Cups and Saucers surely embody all of Massiliano and Doriana's contemporary design qualities. Their anything but mundane appearance will cause double-takes as guests gaze upon their futuristic forms. Now sophisticated, modern coffee lovers can enjoy their favorite lattes in quality porcelain pieces that are as unique as the individuals drinking from them. Each set contains two cups and two saucers.
