Born in Barcelona in 1941 and active mainly as an architect and interior designer, Lluis Clotet has received many awards such as the F.A.D Award for creating the Best Interior Designs for 1965 and 1972, and the Best Building Award for 1979 and 1980. These abilities have enabled him to create many interesting, modern-inspired furnishings and household items that are featured for Alessi. The Foix Round Tray as designed by Lluis Clotet (1994) is an intriguing piece made from polished mirror finished 18/10 stainless steel. In this project, creases of paper foil were his inspiration, reproduced by a single forming operation.
